This session explores the latest research related to the impact of nicotine and mental health, as well as cognitive and learning impacts.
This is particularly relevant with respect to alternative products such as vapes and pouches which allow for high levels of nicotine exposure over short durations.
We will discuss local resources, as well as a curated selection of resources available across Canada to support working with people with nicotine addiction.
We will also highlight that nicotine use may be enhancing current mental health challenges and present discussion points to bring that information forward when working with clients.
Presenters: Cynthia Carr, Executive Director, Manitoba Nicotine & Tobacco Reduction Alliance Inc., and Olsen Jarvis, Chronic Disease Management Technician, WRHA.
